The Portal www.e-danubedelta.com (THE COMMON CENTRAL OFFICE OF RESERVATION FOR DANUBE DELTA AND NEIGHBORING AREAS) is a structure formed within the project "Common Central Office of Reservation for Danube Delta and Neighboring Areas", implemented by the Association for Tourism Promotion in Danube Delta “Prom Tour Delta”, in partnership with Regional Agency for Cross Border Cooperation “Lower Danube” Euroregion, Tulcea County Council, The Institute of the Eco-Museal Research Tulcea and “Danube Delta” Biosphere Reserve Administration, with the financial support of the European Union through the Neighborhood Programme Romania - Ukraine 2004-2006, Phare CBC 2005, RO2005/017-539.01.01.08.

Our project aims to find practical solutions to several problems that tourism operators and touristical resources owners from Danube Delta and neighboring areas, both sides of Romanian-Ukrainian border have, and, on the other hand, to the tourists who want to spend a holiday in this "piece of heaven."

Thus, we observed that there is insufficient awareness of the benefits of electronic commerce and tourism development in the online environment, lack of association initiative in the region, lack of concrete strategies and measures to jointly exploit the touristical potential of the Danube Delta. We also tried to offer to the tourism operators a robust, flexible and modern infrastructure for the accommodation management and an efficient marketing platform.

For the tourists, we believe that our portal offers a very modern and efficient way to meet the Danube Delta, to learn more about the Danube Delta, the tourism infrastructure and its natural beauty. Besides, our portal is at the moment, the only initiative to centralize touristical information dedicated to the Danube Delta and neighboring areas, providing an extremely efficient overview from a tourist point of view.
